The Hornets were the tougher side physically and positionally, but the Grizzlies refused to get run out of the building.

The wheels got wobbly. Hornets capitalized twice to take a 2-0 lead. The Grizzlies generated looks — Wyatt, Mitchell, and Hunter Reid all had shots — but couldn't find the back of the net. The penalty box did most of the work this period: Hunter Sommers picked up a 5-minute Cross Check Major at 13:48 plus a minor at 03:01 (7 PIM total), and Ronan McArthur added a Cross Check Minor at 10:32. Tucker Swalm had also taken a Cross Check Minor late in the 1st (03:39) — Calgary's penalty kill was on the floor more than the offence. Credit to Hedley for holding the damage to just two through all of that.

Down 2-0, the Grizzlies found a heartbeat. Tucker Swalm buried one unassisted to make it 2-1 and put the Hornets on notice. The boys kept pushing — Mitchell and Wyatt each kept firing — but the Hornets sealed it with one more to make it a 3-1 final. Penalty trouble continued: Ronan McArthur picked up a 2nd Cross Check Minor at 04:02, and Hunter Reid was tagged for Bench/Delay of Game at 00:48. Rough night on the scoreboard, but the third-period response was the takeaway. They didn't quit.

Ronan and Hunter Reid went a combined 4-for-5 on faceoffs. The pieces are there — the bounces and the discipline weren't.

Tough opening on the road in Calgary. The Sabrecats came out structured and found one early to take a 1-0 lead. Hedley Mugford was sharp from the opening whistle — making the saves that needed to be made and keeping the boys within reach.

The Sabrecats added two more to extend the lead, but the bigger story was the penalty box on the other bench — Calgary started racking up minors. The Grizzlies generated power plays but couldn't cash in. Hedley kept battling and the team kept its composure.

Hunter Sommers buried his FIRST CAREER GOAL at 13:25 — early in the third — and the bench erupted. Cold, structured Calgary game, hostile rink, and Hunter put the Grizzlies on the board with his first ever. Sabrecats answered later to make it 4-1, but that moment was the night. Sullivan McDonald picked up both Grizzlies penalties (4 PIM total). Sabrecats finished with 12 PIM — undisciplined opponent, but the Grizzlies couldn't make them pay on the man advantage.

Two of them tonight. Hedley Mugford — kept the team in it all night, save after save under heavy pressure. Hunter Sommers — first career goal. Moments like that don't get forgotten. Great game, both of you.

A first career goal on the road. A goalie who refused to break under pressure. A team that stayed composed while the opponent racked up 12 PIM trying to throw them off. The result wasn't there, but Hunter's moment was — and Hedley's wall was.

Hunter Reid won the opening face-off and the Grizzlies came out swinging. Wyatt Robertson lit it up with five shots in the period; Tucker Swalm planted four big hits and the Hornets felt every one. Hunter Sommers and Jackson Evans laid the body. The boys went into the third down by one, but with their hands all over the game.

The comeback. Tucker Swalm tied it at 8:00 — power-play goal, unassisted, his 3rd of the season. Then with 3:35 left, Hunter Sommers buried the GAME WINNER off a dish from Wyatt Robertson. The bench went off. Hedley locked down the rest of the way. A late penalty to Wyatt couldn't cool the boys down — they killed it and skated off with the W. Comeback win, on the road, on a Monday night. Beautiful.
